About the Job

We’re looking for a motivated Accounting Manager (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies and manage day-to-day bookkeeping processes and prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for the company. In your day-to-day work, you’ll ensure that our portfolio company’s financial statements are reported accurately and manage stakeholders from various departments.

Join our portfolio company: Founded in 2021 with its HQ in Berlin/Germany, the company runs a trailblazing marketplace that redefines one of the largest supply chains on earth. The company’s mission is to unlock the vast potential of cross-border supply for the Western Market by providing global access to high-quality products through their innovative platform. Since the launch in January 2022, the firm has operated discreetly with no public profile or media coverage while it has already successfully served hundreds of companies.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Support in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements as well as internal reporting according to HGB and IFRS
  • Build balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements from scratch according to IFRS
  • Collaborate with and support other internal departments on tax and financial accounting issues and projects
  • Execute remittances and payments
  • Manage day-to-day (preparatory) bookkeeping
  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
  • Issue invoices to customers and manage account receivables
  • Liaise with our external accountancy firm
  • Support on Finance initiative to support the management in a international environment

Your Profile

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance or similar field, ideally in a startup environment
  • Knowledge of IFRS as well as HGB and Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills and fluent in English and German
  • Strong organizational skills and keep a cool head even in stressful situation
  • Exceptional analytical and structured way of thinking and working coupled with a high degree of initiative
  • Familiarity with financial, accounting and business systems software, especially, DATEV, DUO (Datev); experience with Pleo or Expense management solutions is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on finance/accounting or comparable qualification

Please note that we are looking for support in the Berlin office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
