We are looking for:

A new team member for one of our portfolio companies in the Insurtech space. Located in Berlin, the company aims to protect SMEs from cyber threats and attacks through integrating cyber security and insurance. 

What will keep you challenged?

  • Developing, testing and maintaining the cyber risk modelling framework in Python. Consisting of several stages such as: model definition, data mapping from external data sources, calculation of expected losses and scenario-based simulation
  • Working closely with cybersecurity and underwriting experts. Collecting, understanding and implementing their requirements by using the cyber risk modelling framework
  • Testing and documenting cyber risk model implementation
  • Running portfolio simulations based on predefined attack scenarios, by using the Markov-Chain Monte Carlo approach and analyzing simulation results 
  • Teaming up with developers to implement the price calculation algorithms in production
  • Building user friendly data applications and dashboards using Python and app frameworks like: Jupyter, Streamlit and Dash
  • Designing and implementing data analytics pipelines from scratch! Including data ingestions from external sources, data storage in a centralized data warehouse, data modelling and data visualization
  • Contributing towards the creation of a data-driven and user-centric atmosphere in the Team by: using metrics, analyzing customer behaviour and supporting business stakeholders with analytics requests

  • Good technical understanding of how to build analytics pipelines from scratch using cloud technologies (AWS, GCP)
  • Talented in managing time, priorities and deadlines with little supervision
  • Strong team player who can collaborate with others effectively
  • Minimum 3 years work experience with Python, Pandas, Numpy and Jupyter
  • Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to clearly articulate your ideas, challenges and suggestions

Please note that we are looking for support in the Berlin office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
