We’re looking for a motivated Hardware Robotic Engineer (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement cutting-edge mechatronic, electronic, and software solutions for robotic systems. Join our portfolio company: A German dual-use technology company that develops unmanned ground vehicles to spearhead automation in both governmental and civilian use cases.
In this role, you’ll:
- Design, develop, and maintain software for robotic systems; including simulation, control algorithms, perception, planning, and user interfaces
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate robotics solutions into existing systems and workflows
- Perform thorough testing and validation of software solutions to ensure reliability, efficiency, and compliance
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for robotics systems, including on-site and remote assistance when necessary
- Document software designs, development processes, and system configurations for internal and external stakeholders
- Select and integrate sensors for the solution of real and complex problems of the defense industry
- Be a part of fostering relationships with clients and potential customers, and offer ongoing support post-purchase to ensure client contentment
Your Profile
- Proven experience in robotics or automation systems
- Proficiency in ROS (Robot Operating System)
- Experience with software development tools and methodologies, including version control (e.g., Git) and continuous integration
- Knowledge of electronics, sensor selection and HW/SW integration
- Strong understanding of communication protocols and hardware interfaces (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART, USB) and communication protocols
- Understanding customer requirements and transforming then to our products
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Bachelor’s degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
- Excellent communication skills in English & German
Please note that we are looking for support in the Munich office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
