About the Job
We’re looking for an experienced Robotics Software Tech Lead (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies and support its engineering activities. In your day-to-day work, you’ll focus on developing software solutions for autonomous unmanned ground systems and sensors. This position is ideal for a software generalist who aspires to grow into the role of VP, overseeing entire technology areas and departments in an emerging and fast-growing tech start-up.

In this role, you’ll:
- Contribute to building the future of autonomous unmanned ground vehicles and sensors for dual-use
- Design and implement scalable software that delivers capabilities beyond the current platforms, with a clear path for architecture and capability evolution over time
- Develop software for both on- and off-robotic platforms, utilising a variety of technologies
- Design, develop, implement, verify, and test algorithms for guidance, navigation, and control of unmanned vehicles
- Lead and mentor small teams of junior engineers and technicians
- Work closely with other electrical, mechanical and test engineers to deliver fully functional products across various projects.
Your Profile
- Hands-on technical experience debugging complex systems involving networked microprocessors and firmware-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices
- Proven experience with autonomous path-planning algorithms is a plus
- Familiarity with battery systems and/or brushless motors and common electrical bus interfaces is desirable
- Proficiency in systems and/or application programming, including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, software design, and system design
- Experience troubleshooting and analysing remotely deployed software systems
- Proven skills in one or more of the following: motion planning, perception, localisation, mapping, controls, and related system performance metrics
- Bachelor ́s or Master ́s Degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field
Please note that we are looking for support in the Munich office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
