About the Job

We are looking for an experienced Senior Controller (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies and support in their growth, digitalisation and international expansion. In your day-to-day work, you’ll focus on establishing and optimising controlling processes while enhancing business operations through the development of a central KPI model.

Join our portfolio company: A German operation focused on accelerating the transition to renewable energy through solar systems. The fast-growing company has set itself the goal of becoming a market leader in the solar industry and offers its customers a full range of services: from the digital configuration of solar solutions to the online sale of components and the installation of complete solar solutions.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Support the CFO with managing and implementing business-related projects and contributing to strategic decision-making topics 
  • Implement and be responsible for financial planning processes including forecasting and liquidity 
  • Create, monitor and analyse scenarios and simulations
  • Carry out monthly deviation analyses based on planned/actual data and explain the deviation findings to specialist departments and management to derive recommendations for action
  • Maintain professional and proactive risk management processes 
  • Support with external reporting and monitoring of cross-company projects

Typical tasks

  • Prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (together with financial accounting) and validate the monthly forecast management reports for different departments
  • Prepare annual key figure and benchmark comparisons
  • Be responsible for the controlling requirements of our portfolio company’s business units (sales, turnover, costs and investments)
  • Develop and implement new controlling instruments to establish a uniform, automated reporting and planning platform

Your profile

  • Familiar  with IFRS and HGB accounting standards
  • Highly knowledgeable and practised in MS Office package and common ERP systems
  • Experience  implementing BI systems and controlling processes
  • Strong attention to detail and a natural leader, paired with an independent working style
  • Excellent organisational skills and project management experience
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel (3 days a month)
  • Professional level of German and English (written and spoken)
  • Completed business studies with a focus on controlling, finance and accounting as well as taxes in connection with several years of practical experience

Please note that we are looking for support in the Berlin / Hannover office of our portfolio company. Permission to work within the EU is also required.
