Berlin, January 4th, 2019. The smart luggage startup Horizn Studios has closed a new financing round of 10 million Euro. Milano Investment Partners and the Growth Fund of Project A Ventures are new among the well-known investors; Vorwerk Ventures, as well as Perpetual Investments, Tarsadia Investments, and Astutia Ventures, are also taking part in the round again. Since its foundation 3.5 years ago, Horizn Studios has collected a total of 25 million euros.
"On the one hand, we are delighted with this strong round with a renowned group of investors, and on the other hand with the overwhelming response from our clients. Both shows us that with our products we have our fingers on the pulse. This encourages us to develop more innovative products and services for the next generation of travelers," says Stefan Holwe, founder and CEO of Horizn Studios.
Rapid growth and profitability in Germany
Horizn Studios now employs around 70 people, including engineers, designers, IT developers, and digital marketing experts. Over the past two years, the company has grown by over 300%. This successful course is also to be maintained in 2019.

As an early days investor, we are very pleased with the development at Horizn, which we will continue to support strategically and operationally", says Thies Sander, Founding Partner at Project A.
In Germany, Horizn Studios was already profitable after twelve months. "We generate sixty percent of our sales in other European countries. The UK is the strongest market, a focus market for us also in 2019," says Holwe.
On the one hand, the fresh capital is to be used for further international expansion. On the other hand, Horizn Studios is working on further innovations and will expand its range by at least two new formats. The most popular product at the moment is the M5 model, a hard-shell cabin suitcase with a front pocket for laptops and the like, as well as a removable power bench with which smartphones and tablets can be charged up to six times on the move.
World first: Suitcase with integrated travel assistant service
In 2018 the company has launched its service Horizn GO. Horizn Studios is the first luggage brand worldwide to offer its customers a free concierge service in partnership with the renowned luxury concierge Quintessentially from London. With this service, Horizn customers can exclusively book their travels, receive curated travel plans and benefit from high-quality discounts and upgrades such as preferred upgrades, late checkouts or free breakfast in over 2,000 hotels worldwide. If customers use Horizn GO for their bookings, they also receive insider tips on site, reservations in restaurants, the procurement of event tickets and much more. "The service is still in the beta phase but has already been very well received. Our aim is to make traveling as pleasant as possible for our customers. To this end, we continue to drive the baggage and services market forward with innovations," says Stefan Holwe.
