Los Angeles/ Berlin, December 12, 2013. Sean Moriarty is the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the world’s leading online art gallery, Saatchi Online. Mr. Moriarty will set the strategic direction and lead day-to-day operations for the company as Saatchi Online seeks to accelerate its growth as a marketplace connecting art buyers and artists from around the world.
Saatchi Online is part of the portfolio of Berlin-based company builder Project A Ventures. The online art gallery was launched by London’s renowned Saatchi Gallery and is based in Los Angeles. Partnering with Balderton Capital, Project A’s investment supported the company’s expansion. Saatchi Online is Project A’s first investment in the U.S. market.

Mr. Moriarty, 43, brings a wealth of applicable experience to his new post. Most recently, he has served as a business advisor, board member and investor in the technology, media and entertainment industries. In this role, he has worked closely with startups – including streaming audio service TuneIn.com, online event service Eventbrite and cloud computing provider Metacloud. Earlier, he spent nine years in top management roles at Ticketmaster Entertainment, Inc., first as executive vice president of product and technology and later as president and CEO. Mr. Moriarty earned a B.A. degree in English from the University of South Carolina.
