About the Job

We’re looking for an experienced Director Trust and Safety (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies and lead the establishment of its new business unit focused on Content Moderation and Data Labelling as well as Trust and Safety.

In your day-to-day work, you’ll focus on building and managing a new department, develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive sales, foster client relationships and position our portfolio company as a market leader.

Join our portfolio company: A German customer service platform focused on connecting companies with support experts located around the globe. The startup collaborates with more than 30,000 service professionals, enabling them to offer remote support to companies through its innovative digital platform.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Develop a comprehensive business plan outlining the strategy, goals, and objectives for the Content Moderation and Data Labelling business unit
  • Together with the Operations unit of our portfolio company, define the core processes, standards, KPIs, tools and job profiles for the new unit
  • Develop and implement a go-to-market strategy for the new business unit incl. definition of target customers
  • Lead the sales efforts to acquire new clients and expand the customer base of our portfolio company, leveraging your network and industry expertise to identify and pursue sales leads
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific requirements and deliver tailored content moderation and data labelling solutions that meet their needs
  • Stay abreast of industry regulations, compliance standards and trust & safety best practices related to content moderation and data labelling, and ensure adherence to data privacy, security and health protocols
  • Evaluate and implement cutting-edge technologies and tools to enhance the efficiency and scalability of content moderation and data labelling processes

Typical Tasks

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential areas for differentiation within the content moderation and data labelling landscape
  • Monitor financial and operational key performance indicators (KPIs and metrics to track the success and impact of content moderation and data labelling initiatives, and prepare regular reports for senior management
  • Work closely with other departments, such as product development, sales, and operations, to integrate content moderation and data labelling services into existing offerings and identify opportunities for synergy and collaboration

Your Profile

  • Proven track record of several years in a leadership role within the content moderation, data labelling, or related industry
  • Strong network with decision makers / buyers of content moderation and data labelling services, especially with social media platforms
  • Strong understanding of content moderation processes, data labelling methodologies, and industry best practices
  • Experience in building and managing high-performing teams, including hiring, training, and mentoring staff
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans, drive operational excellence, and achieve measurable results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards, such as GDPR and CCPA, preferred
  • Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and tools for content moderation and data labelling, such as computer vision and natural language processing, is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
