About the Job

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer (m/f/d) to join the Engineering team at our portfolio company and work alongside a group of highly ambitious and
knowledgeable Engineers, while solving upcoming complex challenges.

In your day-to-day work, you'll focus on building reusable codes, managing libraries for future usage, and working cross-functionally with other teams as well.

Since its launch in January 2022, the firm has operated discreetly with no public profile or media coverage while it has already successfully served hundreds of companies.

Tech Stack: Java (Spring), Python, node.js, Typescript, NextJS, React, Postgres, Kinesis, Databricks, Terraform, AWS

In this role, you’ll:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and own the full cycle software development of the product
  • Write clean code to develop functional applications and build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Manage individual project priorities and deliverables whilst working in a team that enjoys knowledge-sharing sessions
  • Collaborate with front-end Developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
  • Gather and address technical and design requirements and stay up to date with the latest trends in technology

Your Profile

  • Excellent communication both around technical and non-technical people
  • Strong knowledge in one of the following modern programming languages: Java and ideally Python as well 
  • Experience in working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or BigQuery
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and reusable code and make design decisions regarding the architecture of the services that you’ll be implementing
  • Familiarity with modern CI/CD and developer tooling such as Linters and testing frameworks
  • Knowledgeable on what it takes to run distributed systems and have some experience building microservices
  • Proactive in suggesting alternative solutions and pushing your ideas

Please note that we are looking for support in the Berlin office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
