About the Job

We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d) to join our portfolio company and support the team in their data strategies.

In your day-to-day work, you will work alongside a group of highly ambitious and knowledgeable Engineers, while being faced with complex problems.

Join our portfolio company: Founded in 2021 with its HQ in Berlin/Germany, the company runs a trailblazing marketplace that redefines one of the largest supply chains on earth. The company’s mission is to unlock the vast potential of cross-border supply for the Western Market by providing global access to high-quality products through their innovative platform. Since the launch in January 2022, the firm has operated discreetly with no public profile or media coverage while it has already successfully served hundreds of companies.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Craft, clean, and optimise large datasets to make them useful for various business use cases
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable data intelligence solutions
  • Utilise machine learning techniques to extract insights and predictive analytics from data
  • Design and implement solutions for processing and analysing data in real-time to support dynamic business needs and decision-making processes
  • Analyse repetitive and predictive tasks in after-sales processes to understand customer behavior, predict future needs, and automate routine tasks
  • Lead the development of a robust data platform including data store, pipeline architecture, and data warehouse infrastructure

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred
  • Proven experience in data engineering, particularly with big data technologies and platforms
  • Strong proficiency in machine learning techniques and statistical analysis
  • Hands-on experience with real-time data processing frameworks such as Kafka or Spark
  • Proficiency with data platform development and cloud-based technologies, preferably with exposure to Databricks
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Familiarity with buyer experience optimisation strategies including catalog management and pricing algorithms
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results in a rapidly evolving organization

Please note that we are looking for support in the Berlin office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
