__Berlin/London, 21.09.2023.__ Project A officially welcomes Malin Posern as Partner and Managing Director UK. Combining deep investment and operational expertise along with her Nordic heritage and extensive experience in the UK, Malin will strengthen the firm’s geographic coverage and double down on Project A’s effort to back the next generation of startups in the UK and Nordics.

Malin joins from early-stage venture firm Passion Capital and previously worked as an investor at Index Ventures focusing on consumer and business applications in the Nordics and DACH regions. She also served on the Executive Team at Browns Fashion, where she built the retail brand into a key strategic pillar for the Farfetch Group. Malin started her career at Bain & Company in Stockholm and holds a Master of Engineering as well as a Master of Science in Biotechnology from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

### Growing London office reinforcing Project A’s commitment to the European ecosystem

Malin joins Project A’s growing London office, which includes Principals Mila Cramer and Jack Wang, as well as investment associates Daria Gneusheva and Ciara Gumsheimer. London has also become a hub for our investor relations team where Aggy Galieva and Andrea Emanuelli oversee fundraising and global relationships with limited partners. 

The team works closely with the wider Project A investment team and operational platform of over 120 functional experts in the Berlin hub. This further expansion reinforces the company’s commitment to the European ecosystem and builds on its history of notable investments in local companies such as WorldRemit, Unmind, Kry, Voi and Dixa.

Malin Posern joins Project A as Partner

__Berlin, 19 September 2023.__ Project A leads a €1.15m pre-seed round for [ARX](https://www.arx-landsysteme.de/), a defence technology manufacturer specialising in developing autonomous unmanned systems for dual-use applications.

ARX builds and operates autonomous Single-to-Multi-Use robots for various applications. The goal is to help soldiers and civilian first responders make better decisions and take more effective action in life-threatening situations. The company’s small to medium-sized autonomous robots are based on a universal robotic platform that allows for flexible add-on and payload solutions for the UGV depending on different security and defence-related scenarios. 

For defence use cases, ARX robots can serve as smart moving targets for live fire exercises as well as a mission-critical asset in the field that detects and deceives opposing forces by operating as a decoy and alarm device. In the future, ARX AI-powered software will let its robots autonomously function in a swarm so that they support each other in case one system breaks down.

For commercial and civilian users such as civilian emergency services, ARX can access rough terrain and for example, transport mobile relays in disaster regions to provide internet connectivity.

__Berlin, 08.09.2023.__ Project A portfolio company [Ello](https://www.ello.com/) raises a $15m Series A funding round. Ello has developed one of the most advanced AI reading coaches for children. The company's proprietary speech recognition technology listens, understands, and engages with children to teach them critical reading skills, help them pronounce words and ultimately make learning more accessible.

__Berlin, 14.02.2023.__ Project A expands the management team of its operational services. Thuy Ngan Trinh, CMO, and Stephan Schulze, CTO, join Operating Partner Rainer Berak in leading the team of around 140 functional experts at Project A. The new management team will continue to develop Project A's operational support for the portfolio, working closely with the company's partners and investment team.

“Both Thuy Ngan and Stephan have been invaluable drivers for the way Project A supports our ventures over the last years. Their new role will allow us to help scale even further both the tech and commercial sides of our portfolio companies whenever they need it”, says Rainer Berak, Operating Partner Project A Ventures.

Project A’s unique “operational VC” model enables all its portfolio companies to access a wide range of operational support services aimed at scaling their business and their technology. This includes key areas such as as software engineering, product development, business intelligence, brand and communications, data, marketing, sales and recruiting.
